Again the rain is an important metaphor here. You retreat, you hide inside and you wait until it’s over. The look out of the window, through the rain into the world is predestined for getting lost in thought. The music is supposed to reflect all the dynamics: the dull waiting, followed by a turbulent outbreak of emotions. And somewhere down the line it will clear off again.
